Hi everyone!
I'm Delirium, formerly known as Delirium or Yuu back in the heyday of Twilight-Sky and that good old time when I could pour my heart and creativity out on the internet. Life has happened since then and I like to pretend I'm an adult now, but role play is still very much a part of my life. Pre-Rona, I liked to go on live role playing adventures or write 1-on-1 with my buddy Mort, and as of late I've started dabbling in online DnD sessions. I'm super excited to see some familiar usernames on here and to get to know those I haven't had the pleasure of meeting before!
I'm not the most prolific writer, but I'm looking forward to finding my writer's voice again and mostly to have fun with like minds. Some of my favourite genres include fantasy, horror, Harry Potter and science fiction, and I'm always in for some light-hearted conversation. I'm also a big horror movie and true crime buff and enjoy languages; I'm fluent in Dutch, English and Japanese and like to pretend my German is reasonable as well, but lord help me when it comes to math and science 😡 Hit me up any time!
Welcome back!!! So glad you found us again! I am also a lover of fantasy and sci-fi, as well. True crime is also a big part of my television watching - have you seen the newest Netflix doc on the Cecil hotel? I’ve only watched one episode but it’s pretty good!
@simply I haven't watched the Cecil hotel doc yet! I've got a few good ones lined up. I'm definitely planning to watch The Ripper and am hoping the Night Stalker limited series is decent, will be adding the Cecil Hotel one to that for sure! My favourite true crime watch last year was the series on Waco with Taylor Kitsch, so I definitely recommend that one if you haven't seen it yet. I'm not sure if it's on Netflix since I had to watch it through a local streaming service...
My biggest fantasy and SF obsessions at the moment are The Expanse and the Mistborn books, so I have no doubt that those will be influencing my writing, haha.

I don’t think I’m familiar with the Mistborn series. I have a big stack I’m working on reading but right now I’m starting A Court of Silver Flames. I love fae haha

I've seen all the episodes released so far for The Expanse! Only reason I got Amazon Prime haha. Am reading the 6th Expanse book at the moment and it's just like taking a warm bath, these characters are definitely ticking all my boxes!
I've not heard about A Court of Silver Flames btw but I confess I'm not an expert on stories that have fae, haha. It sounds potentially intriguing though!

Welcome back! I, too, like to pretend I'm an adult. I'm so glad I've gotten back into writing this past year or so...one of the few good things to come out of the pandemic. In a lot of ways I still feel like I'm shaking off the rust, but it's been so fun and such a good distraction from life in general.

I watched the whole series like, seven times last year? It's been my rock to help me through isolating at home so long, and I've been yelling at everyone I know to start watching. I'm so heartbroken we only get one more season 😭😭😭
I'm veeeeeery slowly working my way through the books! Watching the show just takes a lot less spoons than reading does, esp when high af on mmj for pain control, haha.
