I finished The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt and loved it. I'm still thinking about it. And then I read a book called Everything About You by a local author and it was okay... I was expecting more of a thriller but it wasn't very thrilling.

Last night I started The Demon's Lexicon by Sarah Rees Brennan (who wrote my most favourite read of last year - In Other Lands) and I'm enjoying it so far but the main character is so grumpy.

I'm reviving this thread because 1) I'm getting back into reading again this year, 2) I'm trying to be better about utilizing GoodReads, and 3) I want to write more.

What are y'all reading now? I just finished The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker, and I LOVED it. Super atmospheric. Definitely not an "action"-style book, but I had also just wrapped up A Reaper at the Gates and was a little action-ed out. Haha.

I'm in the mood for some more atmospheric stuff. With lush prose. Currently trying to track some more down, since those in particular give me the bug to write.

Do eBooks count?

At the moment I’ve been reading The Iron Butterfly series by Chanda Hahn, almost finished the second book. The world she creates is all her own and its a nice easy read with a few twists and turns that you don’t see coming so definitely kept me intrigued. There’s three books in total each between 260 an 300 pages.

the last book i read was in the drowning deep by mira grant (i.e. seanan mcguire) and i liked it a lot but it came after three or four duds and now idk what to read next >:C

I have been reading the same book for like 3 years which is pathetic and it isn't even that good but I am too far in and it is the second book in a series so now I feel like I am committed

I'm currently less than an hour from finishing The Night Circus . I'm listening to it then I gotta find another good audiobook because the people at work talk too damn much.

I'm about to start physically reading Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers by Mary Roach. The library is teaming up with a local brewery to hold a book club there and that's going to be our June book. I read Bonk by her and thought it was hilarious and informative, so I'm excited to see what this will have.
